STATEMENT OF THE CASE.
On the 16th day of ^lareh, 1911, a man by the
name of George Scott Moats made application to
the agent of the New York Life Insurance Company
at La Grande, Oregon, for two policies of life insur-
ance in the sum of five thousand dollars ($')000)
each. At the time of making this application the
usual questions concerning his general life history
were projMnmded to him and he submitted to the
regular medical examination. He was asked among
